Symptom
When you add or edit an Acumatica connection in the Connection Manager and click Connect, Velixo NX shows this message below the Connect button:
That doesn't look like a valid Acumatica website; to troubleshoot, try opening that address in a browser
When you open the same URL in your browser, the Acumatica site loads normally.
Cause
Velixo NX does not send requests to your ERP directly from your computer. Each request goes through the Velixo cloud service, which forwards it to your Acumatica server. Your server therefore receives these requests from the Velixo NX proxy addresses, not from your computer's address.
If your Acumatica server accepts connections only from approved IP addresses, or is reachable only from your internal network or over a VPN, it blocks the requests from the Velixo NX proxy. Velixo NX then shows this message, even though the server works in your browser.
Other causes can result in the same message, for example:
-
A wrong URL
-
A wrong instance path
-
Invalid TLS certificate
-
ERP site outage
Resolution
-
Ask your IT team or hosting provider to add the Velixo NX proxy addresses to the allow list of your Acumatica server. The addresses are listed in Connecting Velixo NX to a firewalled or on-premises ERP server (IP allow-list).
-
If your Acumatica server is reachable only over a VPN, ask them to make it reachable from the internet for the Velixo NX proxy addresses. Velixo NX cannot connect through a VPN.
-
In the Connection Manager, open the connection and click Connect again.
Velixo NX connects to your Acumatica server, and the error message no longer appears.
To check whether your server is reachable from outside your network before contacting your IT team, see the Check whether your Acumatica server is reachable section of the same article.
