Velixo NX 2024.11 Release notes - Sage Intacct
Created by Damien Zwillinger, Modified on Fri, 1 Nov at 7:50 AM by Pavel Kabir
Applies to:
- Velixo NX
- Sage Intacct
Release date: November 7th, 2024
Version number: 2024.11.1 or higher
We have updated our Terms, please review our User License Agreement page. This new version of Velixo NX will require you to register your account with Velixo, and agree to Velixo's latest License Agreement and Privacy Policy. Rest assured, we didn't make drastic changes, the changes were mostly driven by new programs, such as the Free Trial or Early Adopter programs.
🚀 New
- Opening Velixo to the world! If your company is new to Velixo, you can now activate a 15-day free trial license automatically when you connect to your ERP instance via Connection Manager.
- Velixo NX Distribution Agent has been renamed to Velixo Tools.
- The latest version of Velixo Tools (available for download at this link) enables Velixo’s new deep linking feature: Smart Links.
- Construct links using the custom velixo:// protocol and embed them on your Web or ERP pages.
- Velixo Tools allows your computer to process those links and open the specified Microsoft Excel workbook, filtered on the context of the page that you were looking, for example, the current project, task, or customer / vendor.
- New workbook-level option: “Writeback processing order”. This allows you to select between 2 modes: “row by row” and “column by column”. This is useful when you have multiple writeback formulas on the same worksheet, and depending on your report layout, would like to process your writeback queries in a specific order:
- We have added a new Refresh option in the Refresh menu: “Full Refresh (Slow)”. This option will refresh the entire workbook after dropping any locally cached data. It usually works much slower than the normal refresh options due to the necessity of reloading all data from your ERP system. However, in rare cases, using this option may be required
- Velixo NX is moving to a gradual randomised release rollout. Starting on the release date, we will be deploying the new version to an increasing number of customers over the period of 1-2 weeks.
- Drill-down functionality finally supports spilling range references (A1#)! Limitations still apply to functions like INDEX.
- New CONNECTIONINFO function that allows you to display the connection URL or Tenant.
✨ Improved
Drill-down:
- Drill-down functionality finally supports spilling range references (A1#)! Limitations may still apply to functions like INDEX.
Report distribution:
- Scheduled distribution using the Velixo command line tool (including via the Windows Task Scheduler) will now log the operation progress to the terminal window.
- Improved the overall reliability of the distribution process.
Functions:
- SI.PROJECTESTIMATEAMOUNT/QUANTITY functions now support the new EffectiveDate to only account for estimate details that are effective on or later than the specified date.
- SI.QUERY / TOTABLE calls in the table output mode:
- will now preserve original formatting for text values containing zero-prefixed identifiers like “001”. Previously, they would be mistakenly automatically converted by Excel to a numeric value.
- will attempt to preserve any filters that you may have applied to the output table.
- will update the output table upon every function recalculation – previously, in some cases, when changing the parameters back and forth, you had to issue an extra refresh.
- SI.QUERY:
- now supports querying columns that contain a dot in the name.
- in case the user does not have a permission to query the object in Sage Intacct, will display a proper error message in the “Formulas to review” panel instead of simply returning an empty result set.
- SI.QUERYFILTER:
- will now ignore any trailing commas (a frequent typo) in the column name arguments.
- supports column names containing dots (e.g. “PERSONALINFO.EMAIL1”)
Connection:
- Improved the error message displayed by the Connection Editor when a Sage Intacct user is locked out of the ERP system.
Writeback:
- Project estimate writeback will now group writebacks by project ID in a scenario where you try to update multiple different projects on the same writeback worksheets.
- SI.WRITEBACK will now allow you not to specify any fields or values for the parent record (e.g. APBILL) when you only want to update its details.
Support:
- Improved internal diagnostic capabilities for failed ERP data requests.
- When you reach out to Velixo support, we will have a better idea of the Excel platform you use (Windows / Mac / Excel Online).
Snapshot:
- Supported snapshotting large files.
🔨 Fixed
Licensing:
- Fixed an issue where company IDs containing spaces would display a licensing warning.
Calculation:
- Fixed a rare bug resulting in incorrect account group balances after clearing the cache.
- After Microsoft had confirmed the bug fix on their side, we restored the functionality of displaying dates in the YYYY-MM-DD format (when returned by e.g. an SI.QUERY function).
- Implemented additional protective measures against a Microsoft Excel bug where it stopped recognizing Velixo functions and displayed #NAME in all the cells.
UI:
- Fixed a rare bug where ribbon icons would display a blue placeholder instead of the actual icon.
