Description

The AC-IN-RT6 Inventory Aging Analysis report template provides a structured overview of inventory balances categorized by aging periods across all branches and warehouses. This template helps users track how long inventory has been held, enabling better inventory management. 


Coverage

This workbook includes the following sheets:

  • Inventory Aging Analysis: summarizes inventory balances by aging periods across all branches and warehouses for high-level analysis.

  • Inventory Aging Details: provides a detailed breakdown of inventory items, including aging periods, quantities, and values.

  • Inventory Transactions: lists individual inventory movements, such as receipts, issues, and transfers, for tracking historical activity.

  • Options: the report's settings sheet that used for data validation lists and various lookups and configurations.

  • Information: the information sheet of the report, used for storing useful details about the report such as: code, version, article link in order to keep track of the origin of the report.

Documentation

Using the AC-IN-RT6 Inventory Aging Analysis report template is straightforward and effective. It provides a clear overview of inventory aging with minimal setup, helping users easily track aging trends and assess potential risks.


Inventory Aging Details

This tab provides a comprehensive breakdown of inventory items, displaying aging periods, quantities, and values across all branches and warehouses. It offers granular insights into inventory movement and helps identify aging stock.


Filter

Located in the upper left of the sheet, the filters include:

  • Branch: lists all the Branches present in Acumatica Instance including any custom group defined in the options sheet. For ease of use, Velixo shows you the Branch ID that you may be familiar with along with the Branch name. This Display name is configurable in the Options sheet.
  • Warehouse: lists all the warehouses setup in Acumatica
  • As of: a period or date field. If left blank, this will default to current date.



Inventory Aging Details Data Table

The details are displayed in a clear, organized table format for easy viewing and analysis. Key information is emphasized in the table to make it more convenient for users to analyze and interpret the data.

  • Inventory ID: a unique identifier for each inventory item.
  • Description: a brief description of the inventory item.
  • Warehouse: the specific warehouse where the inventory is stored.
  • Branch: the branch associated with the inventory.
  • Beg Qty: beginning quantity of the inventory item.
  • Qty in: the total quantity added to the inventory item.
  • Qty out: the total quantity deducted from the inventory item.
  • End Qty: ending quantity of the inventory item.



Inventory Transactions

This tab lists individual inventory movements, including receipts, issues, and transfers, across all branches and warehouses. It tracks historical activity, providing a detailed record of how inventory levels have changed over time.


Filter

The filters on this tab are based on the inputs from the Inventory Aging Details tab. This tab, however, tracks activity from the past 6 months, starting from the "As of" period, to provide a detailed view of inventory movements during that timeframe.



Inventory Transactions Data Table

Similar to Inventory Aging Details, this tab is summarized in a table format to provide an organized overview of inventory transactions. It presents key information such as transaction type, quantities, and dates, offering a clear and concise view of inventory movements over time.

  • Type: the type of inventory transaction (e.g., receipt, issue, transfer, or adjustment).
  • Inventory ID: a unique identifier for the inventory item.
  • Description: a brief description of the inventory item.
  • Warehouse: the warehouse where the inventory transaction took place.
  • To Warehouse: the destination warehouse for transferred inventory.
  • Branch: the branch associated with the transaction.
  • Date: the date the transaction was recorded.
  • Qty movement: the movement inventory units based on the type of transaction (increase or decrease).



Inventory Aging Analysis

This tab summarizes inventory balances by aging periods across all branches and warehouses, providing a high-level view of inventory distribution over time. It helps identify aging trends, potential slow-moving or obsolete stock, and overall inventory performance.


As mentioned in the Inventory Transactions tab, the template pulls data from the past 6 periods, backtracking from the “As of” date filter specified. These periods are then used as the aging periods, showing the quantity movement for each. The beginning quantity from 6 periods prior is displayed, along with the ending quantity as of the selected date, offering a clear view of inventory changes over time.



User Guide


Using the report

Now that we've covered the report overview, let's dive into a step-by-step guide on effectively utilizing the report.


  • Set the Connection Name on the Options Sheet: crucial for all processes, set the Connection Name on the Options sheet by updating cell A2. Ensure it matches the name used during Velixo application login.



  • Update the Options Sheet: as the foundation for filters on the Inventory Aging Details sheet, keep the Options sheet up to date. It should always and automatically capture the latest dimensions and structures from your Acumatica instance.



  • Navigate to the Inventory Aging Details tab and adjust the filters as needed.



  • Changing the filters will automatically update both the Inventory Transactions and Inventory Aging Analysis tabs.
