Building formulas and queries with Velixo Intelligence

Overview

Velixo Intelligence composes Velixo formulas for you from a plain-language description. It writes the result into your worksheet or returns a ready-to-use formula you can copy and adjust. The article covers:

Writing formulas

Describe what you need in the message box. Velixo Intelligence can provide you with a formula or insert the formula into the worksheet for you. Name the cell in your request to place the result, and name a worksheet to write on a sheet other than the one you are viewing. When you do not name a worksheet, Velixo Intelligence uses the sheet you are currently viewing.

Include the details you already know, such as the connection name, the account in question, etc.

When your request leaves out a detail the formula needs, Velixo Intelligence replies with a complete example populated with proposed values. Copy the example and replace the proposed values with your own:

Velixo Intelligence favors the simplest formula that answers your request. A request for a list of master data, such as accounts or dimension values, returns an EXPAND-family formula rather than a query.

Reviewing the result
